In collaboration with the Cambodian National Centre for HIVIAIDS, Dermatology and STDs ("NCHADS") and InSTEDD, Pangaea assisted in the development an appointment reminder system for HIV patients in a project that was completed in 2010.

Accelerating AIDS Action in China

In partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation is providing technical assistance to the Chinese Ministry of Health and China-based nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to create a sustainable model of HIV prevention that demonstrates the feasibility of reducing new HIV infections throughout China.

Rwanda

Pangaea Assisted With National HIV/AIDS Planning

In 2003 Pangaea provided technical support to the government of Rwanda in the development of the country's first comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment plan.  Working as part of a Clinton Foundation team, Pangaea helped the government convene a number of working groups with the purpose of defining the current and future need for HIV/AIDS services, advised on the development of care and treatment programs, and assisted the compilation of working group findings into a comprehensive plan for care and treatment.

South Africa

Pangaea Provided Technical Assistance to South Africa in the Development of First National AIDS Treatment Plan

In 2003 Pangaea professionals collaborated closely with the South African government as it developed a comprehensive strategy to make ARV treatment available to the country's 5.3 million people living with AIDS.

Tanzania

Ukraine

Comprehensive HIV and Drug Treatment for IDUs in Ukraine

The aim of Pangaea's Ukraine program was to increase access to comprehensive HIV/AIDS and drug treatment to attain improved health outcomes for infected populations, lessen the risk of spread of HIV to non-injection drug user (IDU) populations, and ultimately, to reduce AIDS-related deaths.

Pangaea and Local Partners Join Forces to Address Late Diagnosis of HIV Among African Americans and Latinos in Oakland, California

Pangaea is working with two well respected community-based HIV programs in Oakland, the California Prevention and Education Project (CAL-PEP)and La Clinica de la Raza, alongside the University of California, Berkeleyand theAlameda County Public Health Department Office of AIDS, to explore reasons for late testing and delayed entry into care for HIV/AIDS in Oakland, California and define solutions to address this critical issue. This research project is being funded by the National Institutes of Health, Office of AIDS Research.  Late diagnosis of HIV – a diagnosis of AIDS within one year of receiving an HIV positive test result – has emerged as an important public health problem in the United States, and one that is likely driving the epidemic among racial minorities in Oakland.

Zimbabwe

Empowering Young Women In Zimbabwe to Overcome HIV

Pangaea researchers have led the development of SHAZ! (Shaping the Health of Adolescents in Zimbabwe) – an HIV prevention intervention and research study in Zimbabwe that empowers adolescent female orphans to avoid sexual risk behaviors by improving economic opportunities and linking them to life skills-based HIV education and clinical care.
