<--break->Chevron’s global HIV/AIDS policy is founded on a decade of best practice developed from operations in countries such as Angola, Nigeria and South Africa. The policy was developed in conjunction with independent experts and agencies, such as the United Nations Development Program, as well as Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation, and was awarded the Global Business Coalition‘s Excellence in the Workplace Award in June 2007. The policy has been implemented in the 180 countries where the company does business through a network of 40 HIV/AIDS policy coordinators. In January of 2008 Chevron became the first “Corporate Champion” of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, making a commitment to invest US$30 million over three years in Global Fund-supported programs in parts of Asia and Africa.
