Hany Awadalla

Hany Awadalla is a Managing Director at Opus National Capital Markets, an investment bank focused on the healthcare space.  He has provided companies with financial and strategic advisory services for almost 25 years. Hany was Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at both Unterberg Towbin and Collins Stewart. He was also previously Head of Healthcare M&A at UBS, Robertson Stephens and Wells Fargo. He began his career with Merrill Lynch’s M&A group.

Elaine M. Daniels, MD, PhD

Elaine Daniels, MD, PhD

Elaine M. Daniels received her MD in internal medicine from Yale, her PhD in Experimental Psychology (cognition and development) from Yeshiva University, and completed a research fellowship in polysaccharide vaccines at the Laboratory of Molecular Development and Immunity (NICHD/NIH/DHHS). She has more than 20 years experience in research and development.

Deary Paul Duffie leads the Organization Development function for Genentech Research and Product Development. At Genentech, a biotechnology company that merged with Roche Pharmaceuticals in March 2009, he specializes in organization change (growth and resizing), and executive/leadership team development.

Arnab Ghatak, MD

Arnab (Arnie) Ghatak is a Partner in the New Jersey Office of McKinsey & Company and Americas leader of the Global Public Health practice. Since joining McKinsey, Arnie has focused on work in the healthcare field with clients both in the nonprofit and for-profit arenas. In the nonprofit arena, Arnie has extensive experience with large multilateral technical institutions, governmental departments, foundations and stand-alone NGOs. Arnie holds a degree in molecular biology from Princeton University, an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, and an M.B.A.

Jill Sheffield is the founder and president of Women Deliver, and also the founder of Family Care International (FCI), a distinguished non-governmental organization and winner of the 2008 United Nations Population Award for outstanding work in sexual and reproductive health and rights. Jill completed advanced degrees at Columbia University, Teachers College and she also received the American Public Health Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.

Paul Volberding, MD

Paul Volberding, MD

Paul Volberding, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at UCSF and Chief of the Medical Service at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. For much of the AIDS epidemic, Paul’s professional activities centered at San Francisco General Hospital where he established a model program of AIDS patient care, research, and professional education. His research career began with investigations of HIV-related malignancies, especially Kaposis Sarcoma. His primary research focus, however, shifted to clinical trials of antiretroviral drugs. Paul has written many research and review articles.
