Lead Harm Reduction Consultant
R. Douglas Bruce, MD

Dr. Doug Bruce’s interests reside at the intersection of substance abuse/dependence and infectious diseases, particularly HIV and Hepatitis C. He serves as lead harm reduction consultant at Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation where his work focuses on the development of comprehensive treatment programs for injection drug users to reduce the spread of HIV.  Doug is an assistant professor at Yale University's School of Medicine and the Yale School of Public Health.

Thomas Cai

Thomas Cai

As Senior Advisor for Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation, Thomas Cai advises on the delivery of Pangaea projects and programs in China. Thomas is the founder of AIDS Care China, a well-known NGO that represents the rights and needs of people living with HIV/AIDS in China.

Elvin Geng, MD

Senior Clinical Advisor

Elvin Geng is currently Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF).  He is a physician trained in internal medicine and infectious diseases (MD, Columbia 2002) and epidemiology (MPH, Columbia 2002).   Aside from his work in San Francisco, he has worked providing clinical services, in public health programs and conducting research in China and in East Africa. 

David A. Katzenstein, MD

Senior Advisor for Laboratory Monitoring

Dr. David Katzenstein serves as Senior Advisor for Laboratory Monitoring for Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation where he focuses his work on developing methods and strategies for scaling up low-cost diagnostics related to HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis and supporting Pangaea projects in Zimbabwe related to the strengthening of HIV/AIDS care and treatment. He is a Professor of Medicine in Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Neeraj Mistry, MD, MPH

Dr. Neeraj Mistry is a South African-born public health physician.  His work with Pangaea focuses on the development and implementation of public/private partnerships in the response to AIDS.  Neeraj was previously Technical Director at the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria ("GBC") where he led the technical assistance to GBC member companies focusing on policy, program design and implementation in the workplace and community. As a founding employee of GBC, he provided technical and substantive input to all GBC offices and departments.

Nancy Padian, PhD

Nancy Padian, PhD

Nancy Padian is Senior Prevention Consultant at Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation. Dr. Padian is an internationally-recognized leader in the epidemiology and prevention of STDs including HIV. Her work bridges the gap between traditional infectious disease epidemiology and the broader context of women's reproductive health. Dr. Padian leads Pangaea initiatives designed to more closely link HIV prevention and treatment activities, as well as developing special programs focused on women's health. She is also a faculty member at the University of California (Berkeley and San Francisco).
