Direct Technical Assistance
Our technical assistance capability is geared to supporting countries and their partners build strengthen and sustain locally owned programs, rooted in the communities they serve, and integrated into national health and development strategies. Our primary areas of focus include:
- Health systems integration and strengthening for HIV prevention, care and treatment
- Innovative technologies to improve health access and service provision
- Monitoring, evaluation and operations research to identify and implement effective interventions
- Creating innovative private-public partnerships to strengthen the impact of national AIDS programs
Current examples of our technical assistance work include:
- Creating large-scale urban-based comprehensive HIV services, linking local, regional and central government health services (China)
- Establishing the first East African comprehensive treatment program for injection drug users (Tanzania)
- Strengthening the integration of Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission and Maternal Child Health Services (Zimbabwe)
