Research

Our research is designed to assist countries systematically evaluate the impact of their HIV interventions for people most affected by HIV, and to document best practices which could be adapted in other settings.  Pangaea produces and disseminates widely the results of its research.  (See Technical Reports.)

 Specific types of research include:

  • Formative assessments for adaptation and tailoring of effective intervention models
  • Rigorous monitoring and evaluation of individual projects
  • Operations research for continuous quality improvement and identification of best practices
  • Impact evaluation

Current programs include

  • Improving health outcomes for girls and young women through combining economic livelihoods and life skills, gender empowerment, and linking HIV and sexual & reproductive health strategies (Zimbabwe)
  • Developing cell-phone based appointment reminder system for comprehensive HIV service delivery systems (Cambodia)
  • Developing standardized HIV community health worker curricula (Tanzania)
